C11 are small size locomotive.
They was manufactured 400 locomotive by Japan National railway(J.N.R) and private railway in 1930s.
Ususaly operation for local train and cargo within all japan aera.
Some SL train turn backward from Terminal station.C11 are very convenience for backward operation.

Now 5 locomotive live ,and most activity in Japan.
2 in JR Hokkaido, 1 in MOKA railway, 2 in OOIGAWA Railway

C11 not have a big power. If many coaches are pull ,Usualy other locomotive push up from train back.

MOKA Railway has C11-325. he was repair at 1996. Also Moka railway has C12-66. They use scheduled train "SL Moka" run between SHIMODATE and MOTEGI about 42Km.

Oigawa Railway has C11-190 and C11-227. Also has C10-8, C56-44 and C12-164(Stored) Total 5 Locomotive. Oigawa railway revived SL train in 1976. His history of SL preservation operation is the longest in japan.
Oigawa Railway opreation C11-312 until 2008. Now, He is stored for spare parts kit.

They use scheduled train SL Express"KAWANEJI" run between SHINKANAYA and SENZU about 40Km.
