C58 are tender type locomotive for local route train.

They was manufactured 431 locomotive by Japan National railway(J.N.R) in 1938-1947.
1944 Japan army ,50 C58 carry to south asia by ship. But many C58s can not arrival destination. due to attack from submarine or bomer.


Now, One C58 Locomotive are live in japan.

He was manufactured in 1944. He run at TOHOKU(North-east of japan) area untile 1972. After retire,He was display at school in SAITAMA.

In 1987,SAITAMA Prefecture opted for repair. Then restart at CHICHIBU Railway from 1988.

He has scheduled train "PALEO EXPRESS" run between KUMAGAYA and MITSUMINEGUCHI about 57Km from spring to autumn every year.
